Statement on the UofL Young Democrat Event Hosting Mayor Greenberg

Nobody Owns Land stands in solidarity with Palestinians everywhere fighting against the settler-colonial forces and zionist entity seeking their total annihilation. We likewise condemn opportunists and careerists like Mayor Greenberg who have shown total support for this genocide, and condemn any political organization which fails to throw such monsters out of their ranks. Yes, UofL Young Democrats, that means you.

To the students in the room: Craig Greenberg is a gentrifier who has stood against every measure in this city to improve the lives of workers, especially Black and Immigrant workers in the West and South Ends of the city. He imposed a ban on homelessness the moment the conservative supreme court allowed it! He has advocated for and passed laws which target safe protests and public gatherings, in particular enforcing a ban on public masking. He has stood by LMPD and increased their funding after they got away with murder in 2020. Were any of you out there, or supporting the protests? This man would have called the national guard on you right next to Trump!

And of course, above all-else, this man is an active supporter of genocide in Palestine. "Support Israel during this crisis” he said a year ago, and hundreds of thousands of dead Palestinians later his tune hasn’t changed. What kind of “defense” is this, Mayor Greenberg? Should the working-class tenants in housing your policies have threatened buy Merkava tanks to defend themselves from YOU?
